This is a really interesting blog post by author Sandra Gulland. She dispels the myth that established authors aren't crazy about ebooks and self publishing. http://www.sandragulland.com/writinglife/e-books-feast-or-famine-for-writers/ It's nice to see an author embracing ebooks. It seems we only hear about how ereaders will destroy books rather than how they will transform them. |

Many authors are going to Indie publishers and trying to put up their own Backlist. C.J. Cherryh, Jane Fancher and Lynn Abbey have had their own web site for a while at The Closed Circle where they get 100% of the proceeds of their backlist sales. And the there's now a web site that authors can join to advertise their Backlist sales. Forum on it Here. I think a lot of authors would love to have their stuff in ebook format, but a lot of their books are still tied up in contracts. I expect more and more will hit the web as their own publishers, and that will be a really good thing.
