If an author publishes books under 2 different names, will a search here under one name provide a list of books also written under the other?

No. Some of the bios will list the second name. Many are tagged at the bottom by members. But they only link if the book has book data from both names. (Which only seems to happen for reprints after they get famous.)

If you go to fantasticfiction.com they usually have an author listed under all their pen names. You then have to go to whichever name you're looking for to find what books they're writing under what name.  Jayne Castle writes under Jayne Ann Krentz and Amanda Quick for example, and Madeline Baker also writes as Amanda Ashley, and I like her Amanda Ashley books, but the Madeline Baker books not as well. You might also try a Wikipedia search to find pseudonyms used by various authors.

I also think it depends on the author. When I search for Jean Plaidy, it brings up her works under the names Victoria Hold and Philippa Carr. But these are older books, most of which have been reprinted with covers stating "Jean Plaidy writing as Victoria Holt" and such, so that might be why.
