A very tender and charming story with a mature and intelligent couple.

In these days it is an event to come across a book as refreshing as bright and amture, as free from easy sophistication as The Autumn's Brightness. Here is a charming, tender novel by a deft writer with a deep understanding of human nature.
Publ in England under the title Dilly.

This book held my interest right to the end! I didn't know much about Quakers or romance between two much-older people, or life in New York City long ago, but I got swept along & couldn't wait for things to work themselves out in this lovely, descriptive & uplifting plot. It's nice to go back in time once in a while -- & then to look ahead to the time when one might be older, yet young at heart, & looking (or not looking) for love & a brighter future in the autumn of one's life!
