Hello, I am a newbie and am more than a little confused! When I search for a book and finally find some, they say $ + 1 credit. I thought when you posted books and spent your money to mail the books then you got FREE books in exchange. What am I missing here? I feel like I have been scammed. I listed three books, got three people who wanted them and mailed them. Now I don't see how I get my free books. Any help or input would be deeply appreciated. Thanks CarmenG at CarmenGsTreasures.etsy.com

You are shopping in the Market.  If the books are posted in the system, you don't have to pay any money (just a credit).  There will be an "Order Book" button next to it.  But if it's a wishlisted book, then sometimes there is the opportunity to pay a cheaper price +1 credit.  No scam.  Just a way for the site to earn some money to keep the site up and running.

Also, you might want to check the help docs about your link.  Most links aren't allowed if they are for commercial purposes.

Carmen:

If a book comes up that says a price plus 1 credit, that is a book that is available in the PBS market for purchase. If you want the book to come to you for 1 credit only, click on the button that says Wish. That will put the book on your wishlist and you will get in line for it. When you get to the Number 1 spot on the wishlist and a book becomes available, you will be able to get it for 1 credit. Notice the Wish button? beneath the Post this book button? That's what you would click on to add it to your wishlist.

Example: Tapestry of Spells

If a book is available for you to order for a credit, there will be a button that comes up that says: Order this book. The example below can be ordered from the PBS market (for 1 credit plus some money) or you can just click order this book and get it from another member for 1 credit only. You would click on the Order this Book button.

Example: Mrs. Jeffries and the Silent Knight

If you are interested in books that aren't wishlisted, go to the search page and use the pull down menu to search for Posted books only.

There's one more difference that nobody's mentioned. Books that you purchase in the PBS Market are NEW books. Books that you get from other members in a swap are USED books.
