I recently picked up some Marion Bradley Zimmer's Avalon series but I don't know the correct order to read them in.  I am anxious to get started but want tomake sure I don't start in tne middle!!

Thanks!!

According to Wikipedia, the publication order differs from the series in-story chronology.  This is what they have:

Avalon Series - publication order:

The series in order from beginning to end: (in-universe chronological order)

I don't know much about the series at all; I've got a copy of Mists of Avalon, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.  If you really get into the series, you'd probably find members with more information in the Fantasy forum.

Doesn't really matter if you read them in chronological order, in fact I'd highly recommend the publication order, especially do Mists 1st.  The others are pre-quels, and to be honest I got tired of them after three, same people (souls) being reincarnated over and over and . . . . meh!  But Mists is worth reading even if you never pick up another, it is a different topic being more of an Arthur tale and just beautiful.  The TV series of it was well done and worth watching.

Enjoy, Margaret
