So, I was frazzled at work yesterday and decided to bug out early (3pm-ish) so I could stop at the UBS that's near my office--it closes at 5pm so it's a tough one for me to get to. I walk in, and am greeted by the owner and this wonderful news: "Today's special is buy one, get one free.' Woo hoo! I can work with that, but have some trepidation, because this UBS has great current fiction, but not so much historical fiction, and is a tad pricey--most books are 50% of cover price. But, I settle in to read each and every spine in fiction, and woo hoo again! I found Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, an absolutely pristine copy, Pope Joan, The Pale Horseman, Falls the Shadow, and Charles Frazier's latest, Thirteen Moons. Happy happy dance!
There were several others there that I thought about but already have or have read, thought I might post them--but if any of you ladies need them, I can go back....I saw Dorothy Dunnett's The Game of Kings, first in her Lymond Chronicles series, and Mary, Called Magdalene. I can run back tomorrow if anyone wants.
