My little boy made certificates for my husband and I, "for being so loving."

I assume he means to him, rather than to each other. ;-)

That's still sweet, though:) It's the little things like that, that make a parent feel less unappreciated, IMO:)

That is so cute Willa! You must feel proud that he thinks of you in that light. I don't have children but I observe those that do around me and it seems that many children don't let their parents know how they feel about them much anymore.

In the "kids do the darndest things" light, I was visiting my nephew and family the other day. They were taking care of a couple of children for some friends of theirs for the an overnight. One of the children was a little girl about 9 or 10.  She was fun to talk to and we hit it off well. I think I had been there a couple of hours before she came over with a picture she had drawn of me, complete with the funky pattern on my shirt. lol  I was so touched!

Later she and I were talking books and I found out she was a reader like me. I looked at the books she had just checked out from the library. One of them was the third in a series. I asked her if she had read the other two and she said her library didn't have them or they were checked out. Well....me being the series-in-order girl that I am, couldn't have that. I jumped on their laptop, found the first two books on PBS and had them sent to her. It was such a great feeling and when she called me to thank me for them when they got to her, I felt so great about myself.

Sorry to go on. lol I just had to share that and how wonderful children can be in today's messed up world.

That is so cute.Arn't kids amazing... I picked my little boy(he is 4) up from school today and they made a little card for mother's day and it had things like my name(he said it was mommy lol) my hair color(red) my eyes(red lol really they are brown) and what daddy calls me(bubblehead - which is sorta true he calls me bobblehead bc he makes  fun of my big head lol) . That card means so much to me and it was cute to see what I am in  his eyes.

Hehe... I'm quite used to my name being "mom."  I wonder what he would put for what daddy calls me... we have massive numbers of pet names. My son picks them up sometimes and will say things like "make me some chocolate milk, sweetie."
