If you want just a quick read, nothing too deep, you can't beat the
Sue Grafton aphabet series. You can skip around from letter to letter and not get lost.

Kinsey Milhone thinks it will be a cinch to find wealthy, missing Elaine Bolt. Elaine's estranged sister needs her missing sibling to sign a legal document. Apparently Elaine has already left Santa Teresa for her yearly trip to Boca Raton. An odd houseguest there swears Elaine arrived and is off traveling. But if so, why hasn't anyone heard from her in several months?

I have read the whole series and enjoyed them all.
An early book in Grafton's alphabet series - her usual fine writing, and her quirky but lovable detective, Kinsey Millhone - but there were lots of loose threads left hanging at the end, and the ending itself wasn't as satisfying as some I've read of hers.
The is the second in Sue Grafton's alphabet detective series. Kinsey is really beginning to grow on you.
I enjoy reading the Kinsey Millhone mysteries. These books keep ones interest and are all full of interesting characters and places where they take place, mostly Californis.
2nd book of the Kinsey Millhone series. I read the first one and this one and just couldn't get into the series.
Interesting plot and outcome. I like this better than "A."

This was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd read this author before but had forgotten about her and now I want to go back and read the whole alphabet series!
In what seems like a quick case, Kinsey Millhone begins to track down a missing person. Red Herrings start popping up everywhere and the end is great big surprise!
This is my first Sue Grafton book and I am hooked! There a great sense of pacing and convincing scenarios in this series and I mean to keep going through the whole alphabet! Great summer reading!

Another great Sue Grafton book in her series!
Finding wealthy Elaine Boldt seems like a quickie case to Kinsey Millhone. The flashy widow was last seen wearing a $12,000 lynx coat, leaving her condo in Santa Teresa for her condo in Boca Raton. But somewhere in between, she vanished. Kinsey's case goes from puzzling to sinister when a house is torched, an apartment is burgled of worthless papers, the lynx coat comes back without Elaine, and her bridge partner is found dead. Soon Kinsey's clues begin to form a capital M -- not for missing, but for murder: and plenty of it.
Sue Grafton is a new author for me and I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I really like the Kinsey Millhone character and find the stories intriguing and well plotted. There is a logical progression to the solution to the mysteries.
Love Grafton..I couldn't put this one down!
A very good read. The second in Sue Grafton's Alphabet series. Loved it!
Another great mystery that keeps your interest from the first page until the last page.
The second in her series, but a completely different mystery. Very good - keeps you wondering 'til the end!
This was the second Sue Crafton book I've read and it was a fun, interesting read. The plot was suspenseful and the ending of this surprising! I recommend it!
I love the entire Sue Grafton series.... murder mysterys with a human possible twist.

Sue Grafton's stories are wonderful, full of twists and turns, and always keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Cute book. Sue Grafton puts so many different elements into her mystery books that they keep you guessing. They are so easy and fun to read. Kinsey Millhouse, PI, the main character makes you laugh out loud with her commenteries on her personal life, wardrobe, and eating habits.

This is the 2nd of the series about Kinsey Millhone, a private detective. I have come to like her very much. In this book she is trying to track down a wealthy widow who has disappeared. The search takes her from California to a condo in Florida.
Another great Kinsey Millhone mystery.

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. Some twists and turns and lots of interesting characters. I like Sue Grafton's style and can't wait to read her other books.
the best, IMO, of the series
I really enjoyed this book very much. It was a very quick read. Sue Grafton writes very well.
Only giving this one 3 stars as I found the first half of the book to be a bit on the slow side but it did pick up and I enjoyed the ending...
Grafton was cruising along wonderfully, dropping clues and red herrings like Hansel and Gretel dropped bread crumbs. Then came the ending, and I was left a little disappointed. It felt rushed and sloppy. For instance, Kinsey left her keys in the car ignition but had them in her pocket a few minutes later. It was still good, but I felt it could have been better.
This was a damn good book, I love reading Sue Grafton. It keeps you on your toes. Once you pick it up, you don't put it back down until you're finished with the book. Loved it!!
This was very interesting. I love the whodunit. It is never the one you imagined it to be.
Great story - no need to read these in order. Each story pretty much stands alone.
I liked this one a lot. I did not want to put it down once I started it. A quick read.
Hard-boiled female gum shoe page-turner. Fast and fun read.
Better than her first - "A is for Alibi".
I love all the Grafton alphabet murder mysteries!
FROM THE PUBLISHER
Beverly Danziger looked like an expensive, carefully wrapped package from a good but conservative shop. Only her compulsive chatter hinted at the nervousness beneath her cool surface. It was a nervousness out of all proportion to the problem she placed before Kinsey Millhone. There was an absent sister. A will to be settled--a matter of only a few thousand dollars. Mrs. Danziger did not look as if she needed a few thousand dollars. And she didn't seem like someone longing for a family reunion.

Kinsey is always a treat. Mystery and Comedy both!

This is a library book I purchased, has a little musty smell but in good condition.
Part of Sue Grafton's alphabet mystery series.
Love this author - the whole series is good
My cover differs from the one shown, but is the same book. A good, quick read!
Very good suspense, and has you guessing who the killer is till the end.
Great mystery, Finding wealthy Elaine Boldt seems like a quick case for Kinsey Millhone. The case goes from puzzling to sinister when a house is torched, an apaprment is burglarized.
