All I have is Cindy Gerard-To The Edge |

Jessie: Thanks for taking the time to look through the list. |

I have some of the Elliots series books on my shelf, I'd do a three for one on them if theres any of them you need that are there.

All I have is Beverly Barton's: His Only Obsession. I do have some other Silhouettes/Harlequins/other series romances in my bookshelf though. If you find any other two (or even three!) that you'd like to read, I can send them all for a credit. Just Pm me if you're interested! Last Edited on: 11/13/08 9:17 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I have 21 of the Dynasties series books. I will do 3 for 1. Kim |

ASHLEY and LYNN: Thank you both so much for taking the time to reply. I've gone through your bookshelves and I'm afraid that with 1 or 2 exceptions, I already have the books you have listed that are part of the series I'm trying to complete. After receiving (through Box-O-Books and credits) more than 1,300 new-to-me books so far in 2008, I'm trying to be very, very good and only ask for books that are on my list. Otherwise, I'd probably go crazy on both your shelves. :-D KIMBERLY D. - I hope we have a deal working. Thank you for taking the time to add all those books to your shelf today!

Hi Colleen. I can sure understand where you're coming from! I do have Cindy Gerard's book, "Show No Mercy", but I haven't read it yet. Would you be interested in that and the Beverly Barton book for a credit? I can read the Gerard book this weekend and ship both off on Monday. Sound good? |
|||
|
|||
LYNN Z.: I'm going to have to pass on that offer for the moment. I'm holding on to my last credits in hopes that some kind reader has a bunch of books that are on my list. But wait! There's more! I just peeked at your wish list (you virtual vixen, you). We are wishing for several of the same books. BTW, if you're wishing for Seeing Eye Mate by Annmarie McKenna, you gotta wish for Check Mate also (unless you've already got it, of course). Check your PM's. I'm sending a list of books I don't offer on PBS. I'd be willing to swap one of those for the Barton and Gerard books. Colleen |

Ladies, Please don't post requests for books or deals in individual threads (it's not allowed in this forum - we want it to be about book discussions). However, there are 3 specific threads where you can ask and post your deals: Is This on Your Wishlist #11 If you have a WL book you want to offer to the participants of the L/R forum first Is this on your bookshelf #5 If you are looking for deals or just lookig for specific books (like in this case) Post Deals and Show off your shelf here! Self-explanatory Thanks. Last Edited on: 11/14/08 10:49 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

RIAHEKANS: I posted this list separately because it is soooo long (200 titles). If PBS made it possible for me to search for bookshelves that contain multiple titles (i.e., list 10 titles and show me which users have all or several of the listed books), I wouldn't have to post a list. It would also be loverly if they'd allow me to by-pass the user next up to ship a particular title (using their first-posted, first-ordered system) when that user does not have other titles I'm looking for. <SIGH> As for FORUM RULES... I didn't see a sticky post at the top of the forum. Are the "rules" on page 999? It is not my intent to offend anyone with my personal shopping list post or break any PBS rules. I just haven't found the 'rules' topic telling me that my posting merits a hand-slap... Colleen

Thanks for the info, Mimi. I'm not advertising any "deal" with this post. I'm not advertising my bookshelf. I'm looking for 200 books, all in the Romance genre. I didn't post in the Book Bazaar because I figured that if I want Romance books, I should ask the Romance readers. As you mentioned, most PBS users don't read the forum posts. I'll bet even those who do frequent genre-specific forums don't cruise the Bazaar. How is it appropriate to discuss sex words that digust us and not appropriate to ask other readers if they have certain books? Colleen

Colleen, I just have Lord of A Thousand Nights by Madeline Hunter. |

We have threads for these posts, Colleen. The genre specific forums are for other open discussions, and can be about anything really, but technically, even threads like this go in the book bazaar, and if you want to post them in this forum, they go here: www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php I don't know what our sex word discussions have to do with that issue, but every genre specific forum has some sort of thread posted for these lists & things. We use them because it keeps the forum from getting cluttered up with deal offers and lists of books that people are looking for. We ALL have lists. If we all posted them here, they'd probably fill well beyond the first page and leave no room for our discussions about sex words:P |

Well you are asking for a deal in your OP and you could have posted your long booklist in the is this on your bookshelf thread. |

I'm looking for 200 books, all in the Romance genre. Colleen - You are requesting books and as mentioned, those should be restricted to the posts labeled 'Is This on Your Bookshelf?" I am aware there is not a sticky thread mentioning the forum rules and as I realized you were new here (the rest of us seasoned L/R ladies do not ask for books in any other thread but the ones mentioned above), I let you know. Don't take umbrage at my post - this is not something against you. We do it every time somebody posts a thread asking or offering books. How is it appropriate to discuss sex words that digust us and not appropriate to ask other readers if they have certain books? If you read romance, you would know that sex is an integral part of the romance storylines. Anything that has to do with books, authors or the romance genre can be freely discussed in this forum. Asking for books in individual threads is not allowed, however. Maybe that sounds strange to you but as it was already mentioned, we don't want the thread to be only about people looking for specific books or deals - it has happened, that 's why it's not allowed. You know, SNAKEHAIR, one of the problems with the PBS forum threads is that there is no way to visually associate postings. When a single thread contains multiple conversations (as in the threads you directed me to), it's really hard to see which postings are in reply to which previous post. With soooo many books, I was concerned that it would be chaos if I received many replies and missed them because most users don't indicate to whom they are addressing their post. Additionally, I didn't want to filter through all the 'Watched Topic' e-mails, checking the thread for posts that had nothing to do with me. Since I figured that it could take weeks before I get even 10% of this list covered, that would be a lot of e-mails. If it were just a few books, the group thread would work fine - I post, I get replies, I get my books, I stop watching the topic. I've deleted any request for multi-book/credit deals. I sincerely apologize for the anguish I've caused the forum police. I hope any additional postings to this thread will be from users who actually have books that match the titles on my list.

Thanks for your understanding, Colleen. We really appreciate it. Whenever you ask for books, you should ask people to PM you - most people do anyway, but that way you don't have to worry about trying to keep up with the threads. Last Edited on: 11/14/08 11:12 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Oh criminy, don't take it so personally, Colleen. The sarcasm is really misplaced. Nobody intended what they said as a smack on the snoot. Seriously. I've done BOB deals with you before myself and I know you're a romance reader and someone who would appreciate this forum and its possible uses. That's why I ended up here after being a member for several months myself. It may seem like a stupid and arbitrary little policy, but we're just trying to keep the L&R forum a Love & Romance genre related discussion forum for all of us, and not have it turn into just a genre specific version of the Book Bazaar. That's all. It's not anything against you, and you didn't commit some horrible crime in anyone's eyes. All of us who post here regularly have both a spoken and an unspoken agreement not to post our reminder lists or wish lists in individual threads and clutter up the forum with countless deals or requests for deals. There would be literally hundreds of them within a week. That's why we created the threads mentioned here & why we use them and ask & remind others to use them. Nobody actually remembers by name anyone who missed this information and accidentally posted one of these threads beyond the first comment or two, until someone takes the reminders personally and makes a big issue out of them. It just happens, and we all try to do our part to keep it under control. That's all there is to it, so please don't take it as a personal slap in the face. And actually, there shouldn't be anymore posts on this thread from people who have books on the list. Just move the list to the appropriate thread and responses can go there or to inbox and we can start bumping other threads above this. |
