Sometimes I read an ebook not yet published in paper form.  How can I add this to my Books I Read list?  Is there a way to record a generic book and add a tag or something to it?

Thanks,

Tina

I don't think you can add a ebook unless it's come out in paperform.  I wouldn't post a dummy book w/o an ISBN just to add it to your BIR even if you tag the book.  People will add it to their WL.

Personally, for me, I just add the same title in any format to my BIR for audio downloads that don't have ISBNs. It's just so I can keep track of what I've read so it doesn't really matter that I don't own that format, and I add a note that says audio download. It isn't like you can trade it here anyway, so my recommendation is to just choose the same title, any format, and rate it and add a note. You did, after all, read it!

On a similar note, I wish I could rate all the formats of the same title but NOT add them to my BIR - sometimes when I'm scanning someone's bookshelf, they will have a title in paperback that I've read in hardcover but have forgotten, and since it isn't rated, I can't tell. yeah, I know, it's my own faulty memory, but if I could rate all the formats, I'd see the rating and realize I already had it. sorry for threadjack...
