Someone else had a question about their BIR list and I looked at mine. I see books I've posted but I also see some I haven't. I also see some that I've never had or read. Can someone explain? |

I think books that you've rated or reveiwed are automatically added to your BIR list. I'm anal enough that I'd like some information to show about the books on my shelf, so I'll somtimes add info from the back cover or a blurb from Amazon. I've noticed that those books are automatically posted to my BIR list even though I haven't actually read them. |

Jo, Adding a blurb or a review from Amazon can be done if you are adding via Book Data Edits. By adding it to the reviews, you risk members coming along and giving the review a thumbs down. Enough thumbs down votes and the review will disappear. There is a link at the bottom of the page, on the second blue line, Edit Book Data, adding the blurb to that area will help the Data Edit volunteers add helpful info to the right place in the data base. What you submit will go to the volunteer approvers and then will show in the Book Information area on the book listing. Sorry to hijack this post Geri. |

Cheryl, Not a problem because I didn't know that either. But, how did books that I've never owned get on my BIR list?? |

I know when you post a book you need to rate it in order for it to be added to your BIR list. Otherwise, it will not be added. |

Thanks for the info, Cheryl. I didn't know that! |
