I would like to know which members are homeschoolers & boxers. I love to browse shelves of fellow homeschoolers but I'm usually low on credits so BoB offers are the way to go for me! Thank you Ladystyx for getting me into Boxing!

I'm a boxer. I'm just starting on homeschooling, but I plan to keep an eye out for books that others might want when I go to FOL sales & Goodwill. Cindy |

You know I am...since we've swapped before. But, I thought I'd let other homeschoolers know too~ |

I've been a boxer for a couple of months now and haven't liked it nearly as well as I''d hoped. Many of the BoBs offered to me have been declined because there was very little else on their shelf besides Harlequin or worse. So I usually keep it off unless I'm searching for a book to make an offer on. I would be glad to see lots of the other HS'ing Boxers post a reply here, because then I'd be able to start checking out their shelves. I have almost 50 books that I'm first in line for, so I'm hording credits so as not to get caught short when they come up. I have been going through my 500+ reminder list looking for books that are listed in the system by other Boxers. My youngest 2 are in high school, so we aren't looking for too many children's books. Only ones that I think my grandchildren will need in a few years when they start HS'ing. I do have quite a few children's books on my shelf that my 5 children have outgrown. There are some classics listed in my profile as freebies with any purchase also. Thanks Char for starting this thread!!

Hey there I'm a boxer also and a homeschooler! Some of you I know and others I don't ,but Char great thread, this lets us keep each other in mind. I have a little bit of everything on my shelf with lots more to be added in the coming weeks, as I just found out we are probably going to be moving in a few months. Yick! Time to start weeding stuff out again! |

Maragaret- I have some dover and peterson feild guide coloring books. I thought we couldn't post coloring books? They are really more like a book than coloring, but I've always been hesitant to post them because they say coloring book in the title. |

Carla. They fall into a bit of a greyish area. when you list/request Coloring books you kinda take the swap into your own hands. They wanted to discourage the whole colored in and Newsprint/low Quality/pics only/cartoony type stuff. However I figure since dover, Bellepheron, Peterson guides, and other high Quality Coloring books, ect fall into the Whole teaching textbooks sort of thing ( after all some college classes use them) that they are acceptable. My personal request is that they not be coloured in. As I actuallky use them for the Book part. and if they are colored in my 2 boys argue about who is going to finish them instead of paying attention to the info in them. I usually request Back a credit if they arrive colored in. I also Try to Find, when I am posting, Folks who have them on their wish list. It really is kinda a do it at your own risk kinda thing. If things so Wrong in the swap then the PTB will not help. LAdystyx |

You can also also of course offer them in my HS swaps or in my Coloring book swaps that I occasionally run. One will be coming up as soon as I have a free game space to runn one. think as soon as the HS swap is completely wrapped up. ladystyx |

I'm a boxer & homeschool. My kids are: Emily 12 Kaylee 8 1/2 Zachary 7 I have a bunch of books and always trying to list more books. My kids are always giving me books to post. RIght now my girls are reading American Girl books and eager to get those from here. I look yesterday and was shocked only to see a few people with them. |

Count me in!! I've six kids ages 14, 11, 8, 6, 3, and 1...this is our tenth year of homeschooling. I'm adding my kudos to the mix: thanks Char, for an awesome thread idea.
I have a lot of younger kids books, some middle school, a couple of grown-up books (not too much romance, though), but not too much for the high school set. I'll begin keeping an eye out for good stuff for that age group. I try to keep a nice mix of things, you know, yard sales and such.

I'm a boxer as well. I only have one DD age 2, but I'm always picking up homeschool items at my thrift shops.
I was homeschooled myself as well.
And I'd LOVE to know if anyone is using the seton curriculim as I have a standng need for those in prep for DD - all grades! |

I haven't done the BoB thing because I thought it would be too hard to find others with books I want but threads like this make sense to help with that issue. Thanks for doing it. I may "box" yet. |

Would it be poor etiquette to post links to other Boxing homeschoolers when I come across them? I would love to have a list all in one place and I sometimes stumble on a siggy line or profile that says someone's a boxer. Often I will request a buddy but then I forget to go back and tag them so it doesn't work so well.

I've started keeping my boxing paused because most of the requests I was getting were from people's whose books were WAY different than my interests, beliefs or lifestyle. Sometimes they just want one book, and I'll go through their 1000 books thinking surely I can find 1 to trade. But we are so overcrowded with books now that I have had to be really selective about bringing more home. I've started searching by favorite authors and found many nice shelves that way. My boxing will be paused until we get back from a trip about the 22nd of October, but after that I'm looking forward to coming back here and checking out everyone's shelves. After we get back, if anyone from this forum ever wants to start a box with me and it's paused, just PM me and I'll unlock it for a few days. Char, I think your idea is great. Maybe you could even edit the first post of this thread and put them there so we can find them easily. Thanks for coming up with these great ideas!! |

9th year as a mommy first year as a homeschooler... but I think I had been doing most the teaching these last few years anyway. 4 hours of homework every night for an elementary student seems a bit much! Staying home she is learning more, faster, funner, and less stressed than ever before. Plus now she has time to take soccer and gymnastics too! I have a daughter age 9 (4th grade), and a son Age 2 1/2 Most of my books are childrens, reference, or mystery. No harliquin drama here! :) I am proud of my big swaps too!! 37 in one swap is my record!! (and it was still only 4 or 5 dollars to ship!)
