If you're interested in archeology, you'll like this one. Not as exciting as the Left Behind series in my opinion, but interesting. I am curious enough to read the next book in the series.

Good read. I had to get past the archeological stuff just showing up almost instantly over a weekend. If you take that as part of the story it is very good.

Exciting novel by the author of the Left Behind series. It again takes the prophesies in the Bible and uses them as the concept around which the plot revolves. The protagonist is a character that is someone we can identify with, and also admire. Fast paced storytelling keeps you reading until the last page.

From the creator of the Left Behind series, this is a faster paced book. The main character goes off in pursuit of bible artifacts sent on his way by some mysterious person who seeks his death but will guarantee the artifact will be his if he is successful.

The first in the series. If you know the bible or you are not as fimular with it, this book is great fiction based on Danial's story. Fast action, a Christian Indian Jones!
I have read them all!

Fans of Tim Lahaye will enjoy this book. Storyline a little slow moving. I found the character of Murphy engaging. Very easy, quick read.

Michael Murphy is an archaeologist who fearlessly hunts down ancient artifacts without considering any danger involved. He and his wife become involved in a plot to destroy Christianity and they must work hard to save the world from the power of evil. Satan's forces are beginning the countdown for the end of time for all mankind.
Very interesting and absorbing mystery, gives us something to consider about the places of good and evil in this world.

Awsome read, a must read, but be sure to read them in order. You get so involved you can't put it down. The main character an archeologist on an adventure to prove the stories of the bible are true, given clues by a twisted mad man, he fights for his life along the way barely getting out of every scrap, each adventure gets more exciting then the last.

not much better than original storyline - minimal buildup on events. Bought it by mistake and was hoping it was better - it isn't. an OK read to fill the time.

Baabylon Rising introduces a terrific new hero for our time. Michael Murphy is a scholar of Biblical prophecy but not the sedate and tweedy kind. Murphy is a field archaeologist who defies danger to fearlessly hunt down and authenticate ancient artifacts from Biblical times.

This one is the first book in the new Tim Lahaye series "Babylon Rising". Again, It follows a biblical archaeologist that teaches in a smal college in the south. The book is based on finding the Brass Serpent that God used to heal the Israelites after they had been bitten by snakes and that Hezekiah broke in three pieces when the Israelites began worshiping it. Supposedly, if the pieces are connected, you could wield the Serpent for evil, and thus, have power to rule the world. Obviously, the story is age old, good vs evil. I just love this series and I think most people would like it.

Fast paced read, and intriguing but not as good as the Left Behind series.

I was disappointed in this book. It felt like a cross between a bad Tom Selleck movie and Indiana Jones. To be fair, it was action packed. But the good guys were too good and the bad guys were too bad. It wasn't realistic. I guess after Murphy finds the first artifact in like half an hour....I got kind of ticked off. I mean....something that's been lost of thousands of years and he finds it on the first try? Come on. But if you can get past the phoniness and just go w/the flow. You may like this book. Me, I give it a 6.

He is a much-needed hero for our times. A man of surprising courage, Michael Murphy is an expert on Biblical prophecy and an archaeologist who fearlessly hunts down ancient artifats in the face of the greatest danger.

Now Murphy has unlocked secrets from the distant past that hurtle him into a confrontation with the forces of the greatest evil. Murphy cannot fail--for the countdown has begun to the time of the end for all mankind.

What can I say? Once I started reading the "Left Behind" series I couldn't put any of them down. This one was no different.

Lost me early and I couldn't raise the interest to pick the book back up again. It's too bad, because I eagerly read the entire Left Behind series, but this was different. It started out promising, archaeology, intrigue, a nefarious plot, good guys and bad guys. Early on, a character was killed, given it was a character we knew little about and had not cared about, but the manner in which he was killed, the reaction of the only witness, and the promise from the killer that "there will be many more things you'll be asked to do..." just destroyed my interest in going any further. I just don't have the stomach for that, especially starting that early on in the book. Sure, the Left Behind books had lots of gruesome deaths, but you were at least prepared for it and at least felt some empathy. This was out of nowhere, someone we weren't familiar with, and the promise that many more were to come wasn't anything I was interested in finding out about. I guess I'm in the minority, the other reviews are positive, but this just wasn't for me.

I found this boring.
Read to the 14th chapter but couldn't force myself to keep going.
I hate to leave a book unread like that, but this one I was glad to stop

Since I had read the left behind series, and most everything by Tim LaHaye, I read this too. It is full of action, excitement and references to the rapture and Apocalypse. Personally, I just did not like it as much as the left behind series, although it definitely picks up where the first series left off in time period.
