Discovering the wonderful Christian fantasy of George MacDonald will be a joy for any fantasy lover. A contemporary of C.S. Lewis, MacDonald's wonderful "At the Back of the North Wind" will delight readers: it's especially wonderful read aloud to younger ones who may struggle with some of the language but love the story.

Centered around a young boy who meets the North Wind, the wonderful tale is difficult to follow at first, but well worth the initial effort. Reading this story of compassion, pain, and peace makes one cling to a simpler, more pure approach to our relationship with others and God Himself.

The lovely inclusion of poetry and song add to the epic style of this masterpiece that should be a part of every book-lover's collection.

From the back cover-

Ever ride the wind? A cabman's son in the slums of London did. And he was never the same agaiin.

Come with him now as he is lifted from his bed and blown through a hole in the coachhouse roof. His legs float under him; his head grows dizzy with the swiftness of the ride.

Soon he is in the midst of the clouds, whirling with the speed of sound to the back of the North Wind.
