The description listed with Badge of Infamy is a snippet from the book, but not one that has much to do with what the book is about. The plot follows the story of a doctor who has been ostracized from his profession by a medical "lobby" which has taken over the practice of health care and set up rules maximizing their own profit. He ends up on Mars and must diagnose and find a cure for a spreading plague in order to forestall the obliteration of the revolting colony. It's a typical hero story with a fairly predictable plot. The story is 30 years old, and it is interesting to see how close the author came to the current state of the medical industry.
