This is a fun read. Dr. Conger came to VT from Berkeley, California to replace a retiring old country Dr. in a small village. This is his account of learning to deal with the laconic Vermonters, get them to talk about "private" problems and even that every doctor needs to be supervised by a responsible person, a nurse. Very amusing.

This doctor had no clue when he moved from the city to the wilds of rustic vermont. I think his patients taught him, more than he them.

Humorous, irreverent, memoir of a doctor's life in small town New England. I loved it.
Written by a doctor with a fine sense of humor and a fresh perspective on what the practice of medicine is all about. For a book which might not otherwise elicit a glance, it is a great read!
