Maddie Fitzgerald goes to the Big Easy on business, but the business she gets in New Orleans isn't what she bargained for. Someone breaks into her hotel room and tries to kill her, but she fends him off. The next day tough talking, good looking, FBI agent Sam McCabe tells Maddie that she's apparently a dead ringer for an FBI informant who just happens to share her name and that a very successful hit man is after her, one who has recently left two victims with a bullet in the head.
Later, after Maddie has finished her business and gone back to New Orleans, she's attacked again, and again McCabe comes to question her. He tells her that she's not safe, that she never will be, not until the killer's caught, but she can help. She can be the bait, but not to worry, the FBI guys will be on the job. She's not down with this plan, especially because she has a secret in her past she doesn't want Sam or the FBI to know about, but she agrees. Besides, he's just so good looking and yes they do fall into each others arms and into bed, but to find out more you're going to have to read this teriffic book. You won't be disappointed. Ms. Robards knows suspence, knows romance too, and she certainly knows how to thrill.
