Bareroot season is when you can really get super savings on all kinds of things: from fruit trees, to strawberries, to grapes, to you name it, they probably got it!

All this means, is that you can get the trees which will not be leafed out yet, or bushes, for a FRACTION of the cost they will be later, when they DO leaf out! EX: a flowering pomegranite bareroot about 5 to 6 feet high can be yours for aprox $8.00 as opposed to $50.00 once leafed out! you can find strawberries (including everbearing) in sets of 25 without leaves but huge roots for about $5; those should be out in mid Feb or around here they are anyway;  you can get now, plant in hanging pots & have beautiful hanging pots to give out for mothers day!  Or for Easter: what kids wouldn't love to have their own "strawberries" to eat!

If you don't have hanging pots, you can check out craigs list in your area or your local recycling groups; LOVE to save $ and I love plants! (can you tell? )
