I have several $20 Barnes & Noble gift certificates that I had my family buy for me when it was a deal on Groupon. Anyway, I got pretty busy preparing for wedding and other usual everyday concerns that I haven't been able to use up all of them. After April 10, the value goes down to $10, except where prohibited (I'm not sure what this means. i think it may pertain to states where GCs don't expire.) This means, you will need to use the GC before April 10 to be able to use all $20 value. I see that you live in California. According to California law, gift cards cannot expire or go down in value due to nonusage. If those cards do go down in value, I would complain (loudly) to groupon or B&N.
