wild card last night. 13 innings between Cubs and Rockies. evenly matched teams. Rockies win. Cubs eliminated. Jon Lester was good for the Cubs but Freeland was a little bit better. |

I agree. Last night's game between the Yankees, (better known as the Evil Empire in Boston,) and the Athletics was pretty much over when Aaron Judge hit that two run homer in the second. Oakland's faces just seemed to get longer and longer. I'm actually glad we will be playing the Yankees, we know them well. Games number one tonight Milwaukee and Colorado, then Los Angeles and Atlanta. |

the talking heads on the radio are impressed with the Dodgers. The Dodgers seem to be favored to win it all this year. The fact that they did not have to use Kershaw in the first games was big. Of course the games still have to be played. |

The Dodgers are off on the right foot, as is Milwaukee. Wicked excited about the Red Sox/Yankees game tonight. |

It looks like the Dodgers might sweep Atlanta. maybe. Red Sox won game one. The Yankees had their chances but couldn't get a hit when they needed it. |

Yankees win game 2. Any left handed pitcher is going to have trouble with the Yankees. Most of their power in right handed. |
The Red Sox won game 3. since this is a 5 game series they only need one more win and the Yankees will be eliminated. and the Red Sox can do it at Yankee stadium. They can dance on Yankee turf. Dodgers swept the Braves. and Milwaukee swept Colorado. Astros swept Cleveland. The Astros wait now for the winner of the Red Sox-Yankee series. Dodgers will play Milwaukee to see which of them will go to the world series. There is a possibilty the same two teams will play this year that played last year. |

What a game last night between Yankees & Red Sox! And Brock Holt became the only player to ever hit for the cycle in the post-season. Boston doesn't call him 'Brockstar' for nothing! I do hope they close it out tonight. Milwaukee is certainly a new team to the post season, which is nice. |

Woohoo!!!!! It was a bit of an adventure in the ninth, () but we won it. Phew!

I made a mistake in one of my earlier posts when I said that the Dodger swept Atlanta. Actually the Braves won game 3 and then the Dodger won came 4 to win the series. So we have the Dodgers and Brewers on the National League side, and the Red Sox and the Astros on the American League side. Should be some good baseball ahead. |

Milwaukee wins game one. Lots of talk about Woodruff the milwaukee pitcher hitting a home run off Kershaw |
Yes, that home run was special. You don't see that very often! Everybody plays tonight. |

I was hoping for at least one day game today. but Saturdays are all about college football so I guess they decided to play at night. Will it be cold in Boston? |

HEY!!! Boston in the World Series. I think Alex Cora has been the right guy at the right time for that team. I think he should be the obvious choice for rookie of the year as manager. |
Charles, I agree with you 100%!! What a great series. And, yes, it will be cold in Boston! |

Milwaukee vs Los Angeles GAME 7. game to be played in Milwaukee. so the Brewers bat last. |
Okay, now the Red Sox are hoping that this game will run for like 37 innings or so........... |

Game #1 of the World Series starts tonight. Weather will be in the 50's and dropping through the evening with periods of rain. Advantage: Boston. |

playing in an American league park so the dh will be used by both teams. I heard on the radio this morning that 3 of the 4 guys who can play the outfield for the Dodgers have never played in Fenway and the field is unusual because of its shape and that could be a factor in the game. |
It will also be wet. They are waiting for a thunderstorm and rain to push through, although they say they expect the first pitch to come off at 8:09 as scheduled. Not sure how that is going to work. |

Congrats Joy on game 2 win! |
Thanks, Cyn! It was a pretty exciting game, still keeping that home field advantage. :) |

I read that the team that wins the first 2 games of the WS goes on the win the series about 80% of the time. So far the Sox seem to have the better offense. Dodgers can't get out of their own way. |
I've read that, too. I hope it is right this year! |

One thing about this World Series that really bothers me is the amount of advertising. I know that this has been on the increase for quite some time now, I mean there seem to be sponsors for everything. Park name changes ~ Jacob's Field is now Progressive Field, etc. Fox, for this series, has even started doing little mini commercials on a split screen while a player is walking up to bat, the catcher goes to the mound, etc. Fox is pushing this way too much for my taste. Thoughts? |
