It was really fun to watch Sawyer try not to fall for the mermaid Annika because he thought it would be taking advantage of her naiveté regarding the ways of humans. Along with the good romance there are great advice scenes among the women, demonstrations of how cooking and eating together create the feeling of family, and exciting action scenes without too much gore. I'm looking forward to book 3!
I start by saying that you usually read an author because you like their writing and style, so you should like most of Nora Roberts books. They all have a sameness. You can plug in location, minor character changes,etc. If you have that expectation or have never read her Sign of Seven series or Three sisters series you should really enjoy this trilogy.
