hi all I was wondering if it was worthwhile to read beatric smalls' skye o'mally, the first book in that series. I've tried to read a few of her books and been annoyed at the writing or the fact that she meets her hero in the last 100 pages of a 500 page book. I also know that this has been asked but does anyone know of any new authors of historical or paranormal where the hero is cruel/distant/blackmail/whatever the heroine? I'm just really tired of romances where there is instant love between the characters and the characters never had to go through any hardships. It seems like the heroes are supersweet immediatly. Thanks
