This book is about a young girl's life events after the tragic murder of her younger sister. She comes to befriend a woman that obviously has some real twisted mental issues and then some... Though the drama was interesting, I found that this book dragged on a little slowly. The narrator's first point of view seemed much more older than a teenager, too, so it was kind of hard to believe the characters in the story. But the little promise of the tragic drama is really all that kept me reading on to the unsatisfying end.

Katherine Patterson is a shadow. She gets average grade, looks average, and dresses average. She doesn't call any attention to herself. She has a secret and she wishes desperately she had someone she could confide in, but how do you know who to trust?

Alice Parrie is everything Katherine isn't. She's beautiful, sociable, has tons of friends, and has the best of everything. So when she strikes up a friendship with Katherine, at first, she is wary, but then she enjoys the attention.

But, Alice has secrets too and Katherine is about to have them unleashed upon her. What transpires will have you gripping the edge of your seat in this psychological thriller. A can't put down debut that will leave you totally immersed in their story.
