The story of the forbidden love of Rica and her beloved Soloman, a Jewish man studying medicine in 1348 Strassburg. The black death has come to Europe - and - well I don't want to spoil the story. Lets just say that this is the perfect romance novel. A beautiful love story set in Germany, not your typical Country for a romance novel. Everything about this book is wonderful, this is a keeper for sure. If you can find it, it is worth the price.

Fleeing from the castle after her father tries to force her to wed her twin sister's lover, Frederica der Esslingen takes refuge in the herbalist's cottage, where the son of a wealthy Strassburg merchant is studying.
