Great reading if you want to know Beethoven primarily as a person. You can't do that apart from his music, of course, you don't need to be a trained musician or even to have heard a lot of Beethoven. Just be warned: you'll want to hear MORE of Beethoven after reading this! (Some warning, huh? :-)
