I read the first few pages while waiting in a extra long line yesterday. Off the bat, the writing style is very different than The Summerhouse. It's not sparse, but it is... (what's the right word?).... curt.

Yeah crabby and crotchety were my descriptive words in my notes about the style. It gets a little more floral and less stuffy after a few pages though.

Finished reading this one last night. I'm gonna get my answers to the questions written down so I don't forget them. I didn't love this one either but it was no Labyrinth.

I'm in the middle of it.  Thank goodness the writing style changed after that first chapter.

On chapter 2. Are you talking about how he said that one line about 7 million times in the first chapter Carole? That was doing me in. It does get better though.

Now, if the main character can do something other than think about sex, there might be an interesting story here.  And I am starting CHAPTER NINE!!!

Keep it in your pants head people! I haven't gotten very far in it at all. Oh wait... *looks around* Then why am I in the spoiler forum? I'd better skedaddle.

Sounds like it gets more interesting, I better get going! I usually read before bed but as I went to get in bed last night and turned the reading light on the bulb blew and I didn't feel like getting up so I just watched tv. I think I'm gonna go read some now to make up.

Well, I wasn't expecting this... I devoured the book last night!  O____o

Even past Chapter 9, the characters can't stop thinking about sex, but  I liked this well enough to add it to my wish list. Can't wait to dicuss it.

I finished it today, not really sure whether I liked it or not, I need to think on it for a few days.

That's what I thought too, Melissa. I didn't love it entirely, but I do love any story that leaves me lingering.

I finished it last night. My copy has discussion questions in the back, do you want me to type them out?

Is this a new thing? I don't remember books doing this before but now I've read 3 just this last 2 months that provided their own discussion questions.

It must be. I see them a lot in library books. But I figure it's because that were I 'get' most of my new books.

It is generally in books that are considered "contemporary." I was gonna use the ones in the book for this discussion. I have a few books with them in the back and some of them have author interviews as well so you get the authors perspective on the questions. I think that is pretty neat.

I was recently wondering if there is a book-club website that has developed discussion questions for many books? Not just a reprint of the questions already in recent books, but fan-generated topics. I'm too sleepy to start googling this morning.

I finished the book tonight.  Overall, (spoiler alert) white out - I didn't really like it that much, the writing being in past tense most of the time was annoying.

Yep I also felt it was anticlimactic, it just ends whithout doing much.
