I just checked my B&N account and noticed something pretty unusual. I received some gift cards for Christmas and I added them to my B&N account to buy ebooks. On December 26th, I purchased 2 books, and on January 4th I purchased another ebook. All 3 ebooks were successfully downloaded to my nook and 2 of them have been read. However, when I look at my account, my gift card balance is much too high and I was only charged for one book (the one I have not yet read, purchased on December 26). The other 2 still say "not yet shipped".

I will be calling customer service later today, but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem?

Yes, it took a few days for them to take the money off my B&N gift card when I bought, too. Only one of mine says that it's shipped and that one was on 12/31. I just bought another book last night and it hasn't yet taken the money off my gift card yet. I don't like that it takes so long for the gift card balance to adjust because it's harder for me to keep track of the correct balance if I'm buying multiple books.

I had the same issue - there was several day's delay between ordering the book and having it deducted off  my B&N gift card.  (I use the Nook app on my Ipad.)  I was concerned that maybe I didn't register the gift card correctly and they were charging my debit card, but in a couple days, the amount came off the gift card like it was supposed to.  I think it was caused by the post-Christmas gift Nook bottleneck.

Thanks! I'm glad it's not just me then. I was concerned especially about the book purchased on December 26th, as that was quite a while ago.

I just got my Nook after Christmas and I've noticed that if I buy a book on bn.com I get charged immediately, but any of the books I have purchased through the "Store" on my Nook I still have not been charged for.

I purchase almost all my books from bn.com and have noticed this problem also but it has only been happening since the holidays so hopefully they will straighten out soon.  I didn't first notice it until I had looked at my bank account and saw bn.com purchases that were supposed to be paid by GC's (so my hubby wouldn't see!!) Apparently I had bought so many books I used up all my cards and then some. lol  I really wish they would give you a 'shopping cart' option so you can pay for them all at once instead of book by book.
