I'm usually not a big fan of sport's books, but I actually enjoyed this one a great deal! It keeps a steady pace about a young man who doesn't see himself as "Jewish" growing up during one of the darkest times in history. This is a fictitious "what if" of real life events (the author tells you about the real people in the book at the end). I liked how the author handled the subject matter: I definitely enjoyed the read, but I didn't feel thoroughly depressed afterward (I read this during my winter break) which was exactly what I was looking for!
