Kim is officially the best book wrapper on PBS, if not the planet!  I got a book from her today and not only was it wrapped in coordinating tissue and plastic wrap (hot pink and a lovely shade of turquoise) but there was a faint scent of perfume!  And.....a bookmark!

Kim, I'm taking a "page from your book" and I'm going to try to do the same - include a little something extra.  How nice to not only get a book  you're anxious for, but get a little present as well.   Monica got books today from me too, and I can tell you, the only extras she got were dog hairs!  I'm definitely getting my act together now!

I don't wrap anything . . . ever . . . . . period.   However, I have never thought to send a bookmark (which is a great idea, btw) and I have tons that I have received over the last few years.   So, thanks for the heads-up and a great tip!  :-)

LOL!  I feel bad when I tape up a book and notice that cat hair managed to sneak under the tape.

LOL!  i stopped feeling bad about the cat hair very early on.  it seems there's no avoiding it in my house, no matter where i wrap the books!  the one i don't much like is when i get bits of my own hair stuck in the tape, but i hope people just think that's more cat hair.  *sigh*

i thought about adding 'free cat hair with every order' to my profile after about the second batch of books i sent out, but decided that was implied by saying i have them.  :)

I also like the idea about sending a bookmark with a requested book, ~ thanks!

I try to wrap my books in saran wrap, or put in a ziploc bag before I put the outer wrapper on.

Lol.  Y'all are too funny:P  And Monica, you're just too sweet.  Honestly though, there's a story that goes along with the faint scent of perfume...  I ran out of the plastic bread bags I usually use, and I was at the dollar store the other day, and they were out of them too, so I grabbed this roll of small plastic trash bags - in pink, because I figured, hey, why get boring old white when they have pink?  Anyway, it wasn't until I was packaging up my book orders later, and I'm sitting there at the table thinking something sure smelled nice (but what?), when I realized it was my bags.  Turns out they're scented:P  I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a potentially bad thing.  I was kinda worried about allergies, but hoping anyone who has allergies to the extent that scented trash bags would set them off, I hope has some sort of requestor conditions regarding allergies.  I love it that you noticed and were pleased, but I'm not sure if I should use them anymore.  I'd hate to give someone an athsma attack or something with my scented bags...

The tissue and the bookmarks I just enjoy doing.  It's fun to get books in the mail.  I just take it a step further:P  And the bookmarks are fun to make.  I used to be heavily into arts & crafts, so it gives me something to do with the tons of ribbon and beads I can't bring myself to get rid of.  Plus, I like playing with my printer:P

I also have one of Kim's bookmarks! It's much better than using old grocery or gas reciepts like I used to  :P

My nine year old daughter begs for Kim's bookmarks.  She has several books going at once and always is begging for more.  She really likes the one with the sun. :)

I guess I need to make up another batch of bookmarks then - lol.  Wouldn't want to disappoint anyone (or the kids...).   I was thinking that I always have book orders going out because I have pretty good books most of the time, and here it was the tissue and bookmarks:P  Who knew?

I absolutely agree about Kim's being the world's best book wrapper.  Receiving a book order from Kim is like opening a present.  She's like an artist with her wrapping.  I've never been a good present wrapper and am sort of envious of people who can make pretty-looking packages.

Unfortunately, due to work and home responsibilities, I don't have the energy or time to put that much effort into making book packages pretty.  Frankly, I'm happy if I can get the correct requested book/s out to the requestor in a prompt time frame in good condition.

I felt guilty a while back when I did a BOB trade with her...all my books were individually wrapped in tissue paper, then in plastic and I got a nice book mark. I wrapped her books in plain old (Great Value Brand) plastic wrap and plain brown paper... How embarassing <grin>

I loved it, though and my daughter stole the book mark for her Junie B. Jones books:)

Karen

I did it --- the anticipation begins ....
