I am fairly new and I have a question on ordering books. I am sure everyone has a certain way of doing things. I have ordered a few books by doing a search on the author. I didn't know which is the best way to order books. To do a search on books and it comes from a random person? Or. Get books from checking out active forum people's bookshelf? Thanks. And I hope my question makes since. |

both ways work...if there are certain books you want, you can just request them through FIFO or if you are active in a certain genre, sometimes there are threads asking if people have certain books on their bookshelf (I know the mystery/thriller genre has this). or you can search people's shelves if you want to see what they have because you never know when something will pique your interest! |

You can also check the Book Bazaar and see if anyone is offering a deal, or ask for a deal of your own (i.e. "seeking a deal on books by XYZ Author") Cheers, Catt |

The only time I look at someones bookshelf is if I am already ordering something from them, or they have something in their signature that draws me to it. I rarely find books I want this way. However, I did recently get a great deal because of someones signature drew me to look at their shelf. I guess it depends on if you are looking for specific books or just browsing. |

I've started checking out the "Order More from this Member" tab when I request a book. I was ordering one of a series and found that she also had the next book in the series, so I nabbed it. But my tastes in reading are fairly specific, so it would be too random to just search people's bookshelves. I always use the search function to find specific books or authors and have also found the display of available books on the home page to be a source of books that I haven't thought of. |
