Any Beth Moore fans? I want to read her book "Get Out Of The Pit," but I want to know if it's a good read? Is it inspirational? motivational? uplifting? or a waste of credit?

Have not read this particular book, but I've never read any Beth Moore stuff that I would say was a waste of a point.  She's well grounded in God's Word and she writes and teaches at a level that challenges without being impossible to understand.  She also is very real and so she's easy to identify with.  I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I haven't read any of her books but several look interesting including, 'GET OUT OF THE PIT'. I have hers on my reminder list. I have heard her on tv a time or two and I liked what she was saying. I don't think  her books would be a waste of a credit but her books don't seem to get posted much here. Maybe they are keepers for most people.

Diane is correct. Most of her books are "keepers". I'm certain most are underlined and commented in, like mine. I've been through several of her women's Bible studies with our ladies' group at church. They are quite well done and much is learned. Presently, we're doing her "Daniel" study. Wow! It certainly makes one see things that were perhaps read over before. It's definately a "keeper" when we're finished. I don't think you'd go wrong with any Beth Moore book.

I have to agree with everyone else that has already posted.  I love Beth Moore's way of teaching.  I have seen her in person 3 times, done many of her studies & have many of her books.  I keep her books too because they are just too good to part with.  I have Get Out of that Pit but haven't read it yet...a friend borrowed it from me though & said it was really good, exactly what she needed at that moment.  I seriously don't think you can go wrong with any Beth Moore book.  Hope that helps!

Margaretann--I'm doing the Daniel Bible study with a group of ladies.  We are on week 3.  It's great!!

I've never just read a book by her, but when you do the Bible studies, you have lots of writing to do in the workbook, so it wouldn't be postable.

I am new to this website and I am just "shopping" a bit.  I am interested in Womens Bible study type books....we are a small group of "empty nesters" and "Hot Flash Girls" (late forties and early fifties) who are looking to grow and rediscover what God would have us to do.  Help if you have any suggestions or direction.  We are currently studying "Pathways to Purpose for Women".....it is good, we are looking to move on.  Thank you if you can help.......

I love Beth Moore. Don't fret...some of them DO get posted. I got my copy of GET OUT OF THAT PIT right here on PBS!  I am not finished with it yet (I'm working my way through it slowly) but I do plan to re-post when I'm eventually finished.

Her books are usually just summaries of the workbook/DVD Bible studies, so if you want an overview of the study, or a reminder of what you studied, the books are a great resource.

I agree with Melissa--Beth Moore is great!  The curriculum includes an hour video session per week.  Her videos are very good, and you feel as if you are right there with her.  The materials more expensive that many others, but well worth the money.  Our group is often able to borrow the vidoes from one of the local churches, so then we only have to each buy the workbook.
