The Civil War Battlefield Guide by Kennedy  (this is definitive...describes every single battlefield with many maps)

The Negro in 18th Century Williamsburg

Slavery in the Colonial Chesapeake

Wayward Nuns in Medieval Literature

The Kindness of Strangers: The Abandonment of Children in Western Europe from Late Antiquite to the Renaissance.
