I read a lot of books, and I rarely point one out- but hey, this one is terrific!  It's a Harlequin Blaze, and I almost never like the smaller category romances because they don't have enough meat to them.  This is a big exception.  My favoriite H and h in ages.  Smart sexual tension, realistic situations, nothing that makes you want to hurl the book at the wall because they're thinking absurdly.  The h is wonderful, street smart, sexy, clever.   This little book packs in more than most longer length novels.  I was very impressed!  Now I just have to decide if I'm going to repost it....

I bought this one, too, but haven't read it yet. I love her historicals but wasn't sure how she'd handle something like a Blaze, but it sounds like she has a winner. I'll have to get to it real soon.

I didn't get this one, but I looked at AAR & decided to try out a couple of her longer ones, Caught in the Act & the sequel, Behind Closed Doors.  Elizabethan era is not my favorite period, but I thought I'd give Krahn a shot & see how I like her.  It's been a while since I tried something "new to me" by an established author.

I read a wide variety of romance authors and recently read The Book of the Seven Delights by Betina Krahn, and I loved it.  Not as R rated as I usually read, but funny and clever and interesting.  A great light romance.  So I have ordered five more of her books.  Thanks for the recommendation.

I saw good reviews of this one but how does it compare to her regular historicals? She's an okay/good writer but I wasnt engaged enough to ever glom her.

Actually, I liked it better than the couple of historicals of her that I've read.  Very snappy and engaging- maybe this is the sub-genre for her right now!

I too loved it. Even though it is not her usual format she pulled the short format off. I love the characters. There werent any wasted words. They were real and honest. If you like Krahn then please give this little gem a try. It was sexy and funny all at the same time. I have all of BKs books and this is a definate stand out for me.  Although my two all time favorites are The Last Bachelor and The Perfect Mistress. Love those!
