This was my first cookbook. I remember when you could snip Betty Crocker points and this was what I got out of the catalog.

The recipes are extremely basic, but heck, I made one of the recipes today - the big puffy pancake on page 26. Some of the recipes need tweaking, such as the Black-Eyed Susans on pg. 156 that has my elementary school handwriting on it that says "[SIC]recipe not Good nasty. not enuf Flour."

My favorite thing about this cookbook, when I was a kid, was that most recipes have a photo of one of the handful of kids that pretested the recipes, as well as a little blurb with that kid's thoughts on making or eating that particular recipe.

This was a great first cookbook for me that inspired a passion for cooking early on.
