I've been an admirer of Betty MacDonald's books for years, though I never knew to what extent her novels (memoirs?) reflected her real life. Anne Wellman's book tells the true story, comparing the books to what actually happened in Betty's life, and it's a fascinating read. Well written, very interesting, highly recommended.
