What would you do if you job was to "facilitate" break ups, and someone "begs you for help with breaking up with the Big Jackass, who's been leading her on all this time--and turns out to be married. . . to your mom. . .
and another client that you broke up, would like to date you.
Fun fast read. Love Johanna Edwards. This is not quite as fantastic as "the next big thing" but it is nearly as fun, and I can see it as a movie sometime soon.
Cute story of a woman who breaks up with people for a business. Funny!
Johanna Edwards is one of my favorite new authors. This is not a typical romantic story. The heroine takes the reader through situations that are identifiable with some clever twists.
This woman can't go wrong! I read this book in one day, I loved it that much, almost difficult to let it go but it must be read over and over again! Fabulous!
This book is a lot of fun to read - and has a new idea I had never thought of. Main character Dani Myers works for a "break up service". Along the way she makes some friends with the people she is supposed to "break up" with. I enjoyed this book.
fun and interesting chic lit
I loved this book and I love this author. It's a quick light read that will make you laugh out loud.
The premise of the book is rather silly - who would hire a "service" to break up a relationship for you? However, the characters are funny, even if a little pathetic. I enjoyed it overall - it kept my attention well.
Another new to me author brings a very entertaining story about a woman who works in the unhappy side of love and relationships. Dani Myerss family thinks she works as website designer. The truth they dont know is that Dani works for a company that people hire to dump their significant others. This isnt an easy job for Dani because she is too compassionate and sympathetic to the people getting dumped. This becomes evident when she begins befriending the people who are dumped and even matchmaking.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this story is the numerous layers of the story and the different characters. Dani finds herself attracted to one of the men she is supposed to dump and is so reluctant to hurt him, she does the dumping anonymously. Another client is a womanizer who should qualify for some kind of frequent flyer program with the number of women he has hired Dani to break up with. Yet another client is revealed to be dating Danis father, who just happens to be still living with and married to Danis mother.
Unfortunately, when relationships are built upon deception and dishonesty, its only a matter of time before the walls come tumbling down. Dani is left trying to make things right with numerous people in both her professional and personal life.
I will be looking for more books by this author and recommend Your Big Break to anyone looking for a story that provides a happy ending from an unusual theme.
Cute story, quick read, fun characters. Entertaining.
A great read! I really enjoyed it.
A fun, quick enjoyable chick lit read.
I loved the idea behind this book and read it in one day.
I enjoyed this sweet book and read it quickly. Less fluffy than some but still easy and quick. Good weekend read.
Fun book - light as air and a quick read
I thought this was an enjoyable, easy read.
A great modern take on romance.
Dani Myers facilitates romantic breakups for other people at a company called Your Big Break. But her life becomes complicated when one of her jobs hits too close to home and then she finds herself falling for one of the guys being dumped by a money-hungry girlfriend.
Pleasant if uninspired lightly comic romance. Good beach reading.
