Sparrowhawk is 2 years and three months old. He is a black capped conure who we did not know could talk. My comp is right by his cage and I was awake sick a few nights ago. He was covered up and I guess my light from the computer disturbed him. He started mumbling and complaining quietly. He says: Baby bird pretty bird good boy night night kisses! He may say more but in the last couple days this is all we have heard so far. Now that his secret is out we are trying to teach him new words. |

I had to respond. I had a white parakeet many years ago and every time I walked by his cage I said, "Tweet Tweet." One day I heard him say it, so I started to pay better attention, and it turned out he was saying all kinds of stuff. The funniest one was "Erik...telephone!" That's what I used to yell up the stairs when the phone was for my son. |

That's so cool! We had a cockatiel that we found at the ball park. It was a talker and a half. Someone taught it swear phrase. His cage/pen was in the yard and someone would come over looking for my dad and they'd hear whistling (which my Dad always did) and then "Go to Hell!" LOL |

We used to have two parakeets. They learned to say Pretty Bird. lol Then every night when we would cover their cage, they would say "Thank You"! |

My friend had a parrot that he rescued from a elderly lady who lived near a golf course. It was customary to hear the bird yell "Fore!" every once inawhile, especially at 3:00 in the morning. :) Last Edited on: 2/27/10 10:55 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
