In honor of this being my birth-month, I am offering a Three-for-One special on all my books through the end of May.

Order 3 books from my bookshelf (NOT from the books' description pages !!!) and I'll buddy you back 2 credits (order more, get more credits back)

And 4-for-1 on all paperback romances!!

FAQ

1) If you only want 2, I'll still buddy you back 1 credit (etc)

2) If you are in the Dayton OH area and can come pick up the books, PM me and I'll make an even sweeter deal

3) Pet free, smoke free house

4) Offer not valid for time-traveling vampires or astronaut unicorns (but books about them are fine)

I am kinda confused by why you keep posting the following in other people's deal threads, yet you are offering a deal yourself?

I don't "get this" (and other similar 4-or-more for one credit deals)

It would be cheaper, rather than paying the postage,  to buy credits here in the forums for $2.50 (even less sometimes)

If you have too many books, donate them somewhere or (I don't mean this part seriously) buy the credits, throw out some books, and pretend you sent them to someone

Any enlightenment would be welcome. Thanks

happily (and thank you for asking)

1) when I wrote those comments I didn't take into account they would "bump" the threads to the top of the page. I know, I should have realized, if I had, I would have just posted it once.

2)  I have nothing against 2 or 3 for 1, but at some point it seems to me to be ... basically wasteful.

People who offer 5, 7 and in some cases 10 books (including unpostables) for one credit are practically saying "no one wants these books, so I'll pay you to take them off my hands. Yes, instead of up to $3 per credit, I'll pay at least 4 or 5, just so you'll give your credit to me rather than to anyone else, and then these books can sit just as unwanted on your shelf."

If you (in general) have so many books sitting on your shelf, and you really need to "make room", why not just donate the "oldest" ones to Goodwill (or some such)?

That's my opinion, you don't have to agree, I don't want to start any fights, we're just reasonable people exchanging different viewpoints.

Then why are you offering a 4/1 deal on romance?  I'm confused by your post.  I personally appreciate getting deals and try to offer them to others as well.

I understand why someone would offer 4 for one for romance books.  Have you picked one up latley they are mostly half the size of normal books so its kinda like offering a 2/1.  4 small romance books will ship at the same price as 2 regular mmpb (average size 400-500 pages).  See so you would pay the same amount as someone offering a 2/1 on average size mmpb so why not just mail them to someone who would read them instead of them ending up in a recycling bin which is what my local thrift store does.  They keep the books a month then send them to be recycled for the paper.

I also think it would be wrong to just throw books out they need to have loving homes!

umm yeah..thats what i thought the BB was all about...(shaking head in confusion)..

i dont 'get' why it would bother anyone if someone offers a good deal-it gets people looking at the shelves and the books moving..

Adriane,

I wasn't trying to sabotage anything, I was just staing my opinion not about deals in general, but about certain kinds of deals.

I was trying to start a discussion, I'm sorry if I upset people that disagree with me, or missed my whole point entirely.

I went into more details in one of the other threads, I can send you a link if you want, I won't rehash it all again, as far as i'm concerned the whole topic can just die out and I won't mind.
