I just finished this series and loved it.

Is there anything else like this out there? I am new to this genre and there are so many books out there.

I love the series too! Thre is nothing like BDB. They are just to good but another good series is by Jean Johnson. The Sons of Destiny. The first one is The Sword next is The Wolf and there's more. Most are WL. I have the next 6 on my WL and they do move just not fast enough for me. If I think of any others I update my post.

Thank you Cindy, really appreciate your help.

I am having a hard time finding another book to read right now, but I actually have The Sword and now i am looking forward to reading it.

I would recommend Nightkeepers (Final Prophecy, Bk 1) by Jessica Andersen. The author is obviously influenced by JR Ward, (in fact, I think Ward is thanked on the acknowledgements page) however I think Anderson does a nice job of creating her own complex world.

Gena Showalter has a new series called Lords of the Underworld, they are kind of similar, but they're not vampires.  They are very good.

The Lords of the Underworld series is what got me started on this genre. I had never read any before and I am still not sure what made me buy it.

Loved that whole series and now I am hooked..

Thanks to everybody for your recommendations, I really appreciate it

Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling books are very interesting and different.

Shelly Laurenston has some great books about shifters, with really great humor in them.

Christine Feehan's original Carpathian books are good - Dark Prince & Dark Desire, also her Drake sisters are wonderful.

Lara Adrian and Susan Sizemore have series that are very similar to BDB. Problem is, they are almost too similar and you might just feel you are reading the same thing over and over.

You might try Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series if you want something a little different than "You are my soulmate and I'm going to take you back to my compound to protect you" type of romance.

I haven't started the Black Dagger Brotherhood series yet.  I do have the first book in my TBR pile.  However, I did enjoy Kelley Armstrong's series, Women of the Otherworld.  The first book starts out featuring a female werewolf.  Check it out, the first one is called Bitten.
