This powerful novel relates the impact and aftereffects of the atomic bomb on its civilian victims through their eyes. Absolutely engrossing, well-told tale; should be required reading.

A book I would recommend for all to read. A great depiction of the aftermath of dropping the atomic bomb. I can see more vividly why such a weapon is so horrific. I didn't rate the book higher because I don't think the writing itself was extraordinary.. That could be due to translation issues, however. Glad I read the book. It is classifies as fiction, but apparently the author did extensive research and some of the characters were real people. Enjoy!
