A fast-paced thriller, perhaps a little too fast-paced because there is not enough time between crises to do any character development and many plot holes were left unfilled. Even so, I enjoyed reading the book.

Literally from the first page this book explodes out of the gate and never stops. Such a fast-paced book might seem a little tiring, but Dun does an incredible job of keeping things interesting. The characters are well developed and this would definitely make a great movie. The mystery of the Black Silent is unraveled slowly and perfectly, giving you just enough to think you understand what's going on just before something else comes up to prove you wrong. This was my first introduction to David Dun's work, but I'm going to find the rest of his books now. Highly recommended for fans of David Morrell.

Non-stop action from the very first page. Spellbinding. Prepare to hold your breath! Original, compelling, and best of all, thought provoking, it is a page turner in the best sense of the word! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well, it started out on a grand 007 high adventure, but then bogged down in the middle. Makes you want to ask Dun why why why so much scenario --- if they make a movie about this book it will take 24 hours to show it! Otherwise, for my second Dun book, much better than the first, and um, I think the octopus' grand finale at the end should have been played up -- maybe with Frick getting tossed around by Glaucus...???
