this is the third installment of the Dept. 30 series, and I enjoy them very much. This one deals with a pregnant musician, a dead husband, and missing money. Very good read.

Alex Bridge is not the usual suspect, the young recently married and widowed, pregnant musician has been accused of embezzling from her employer, a giant media comglomerate. Even worse an FBI agent investigating the crime has murdered and all evidence points to her. Enter Faith Kelly of Department Thirty - a secret government agency that erases the identities of top level criminals in exchange for the kind of information poeple kill for. She offers Alex immunity in exchange for her testimony about her empoyer's financial misdealings, the problem is can she keep Alex alive long enough to get the info as evidence keeps mounting that they're both up against a conspiracy that goes back more than a century and still thrives today in the highest levels of American justice.

This was a really good read, my first in the Dept. 30 series, not my last.
