Nadia works for KayCee Corp as one of the secretaries. She sacrificed a lot to take care of her younger brother (dropped out of high school to work, gave up her dream of going to college for nursing). So, when she runs into Grayson and they are trapped together in a blackout, she does something for herself and gives in to the crush she has had on him. They agree to have a one night stand.
Grayson is the (part) co-founder of KayCee Corp and he comes from old money. His parents are pressuring him to quit the current job and step up in their company (Chandler International). See, CI is the family legacy and he is just dabbling. What he wants doesn't really matter to them. At the end of the day, it is about CI.
Under pressure because his parents also want him to get married (and they have the person picked out), he tells them Nadia is his fiance. She only agrees because she needs to take care of her brother. He got accepted into Yale and while he got a scholarship, it was only a partial one.
As things go, they get to know and open up to each other. Feelings happen. I adored Nadia. Gray finally stood up to the parents too.
And in these "old money" and "family business" scenarios, it's always the son that matters. Never the daughter is expected to take up the reins. So this was a nice change; but only because of Gray.

Nadia is a strong, independent, older sister just taking care of her younger brother and trying to survive. Until she meets the handsome and lonely billionaire, Grayson Chandler. Sparks fly between the two of them as they as stuck together in a blackout.

And while the hookup was supposed to be one and done, Grayson can't forget Nadia. When the opportunity arises, Nadia helps Grayson deflect his family business responsibility and Grayson helps Nadia provide for her brothers college education.

Neither expects a long term relationship, and as in all good stories there is a breaking point between the characters, but this only secures Grayson decision to not return to the family company and to fight for his woman, Nadia.
