Another excellent read from Rankin. Rankin demonstrates his ability to develop compelling characters away from his Inspector Rebus series.

This action packed novel about a former SAS operative investigating the death of his brother was surprisingly good. Although Rankin is most famous for crime fiction featuring Inspector Rebus, this stand-alone is closer to a Jason Bourne novel with its globe trotting location changes and the protagonist's brutal violence.
