I have a new iPod Touch and have downloaded tons of podcasts and a couple TV shows to watch at various times while waiting for this or that.

Blood Ties is one of the choices on iTunes and I've never seen the show before. BUT - I now have all the books and want to read them so how closely does the TV show follow the books?  I mean, if I watch the TV show are the books going to be redundant or is it more like Bones and Kathy Reichs where there is really no resemblance between the books and the shoow?

TIA!

The first two episodes are pretty much the first book. I wouldnt get into it if I were you though cause it got canceled and its just not fair where it left off.

As already mentioned, the first two episodes are pretty much from the first book, but then rest of the episodes are new stories, getting better as they went along. I think one or two other episodes did take stuff from the other books, but they didn't do them all. I really loved this series and was very disappointed that it got cancelled, especially after they had split the first season in two and made me wait months to see the second half. I guess they wanted to have it to compete against Moonlight, which I didn't like at all. The actor playing Henry is a real hottie, so the eye candy alone makes this series worth seeing.

I was a huge fan of BloodTies the series on Lifetime..... I hated to see them cancel that show.... they are IDIOTS just like CBS cancelling Moonlight!!!

That said, I know that Blood Ties has been released to DVD , only bad thing is it is not in Region 1...... if you have a DVD player that plays all regions, you may want to get it.

I am thinking of buying a DVD player that plays all regions, just so I can buy Blood Ties ....

I just looked at amazon uk and with shipping it is only $17.62 at todays exchange rate for the whole season.

A lot of US dvd player can be made region free, just google your particular model. My first region free was a panasonic from walmart, only payed $50 for it.
