Typical Star Trek book, although it does at least give ALL the character's some part in the story, especially Christine Chapel (for classic Trek Fans that is a plus).

However it is mainly just a Halloween tale. "Vampires in Space" basically with some scientific explanations for the disease that makes them.

So if you want a light sci-fi read with a vampire feel, this will do.
