If I drop my mail in a box close to the pick up time.... is there ever a danger of the box being picked up earlier than the posted time?

It's ok to be a couple of minutes late but early pick ups and the resultant scan showing an early pick up is a NO NO.

It can get a Carrier in trouble :)

yes they do get picked up early, BUT then they will get picked up again at or after the posted time.

If the time is posted, it will always be picked up at or after that time. ALL collection boxes have barcodes inside the bix that the carrier is required to scan. early scans are a big no-no, but late scans are OK.
