ok- so i did this bob deal with a member on 10/12 (well, i thought i did a deal but more on this later...)

still no books have arrived for me so i go check out and see that the member account has been closed or suspended....

great....

so i follow the mail truck and it says the books are en route back to me (this has been a while and they still have not arrived... postage will be due by me- hahahah)

the usps says they were delivered

this was a heavy box and cost around $10.00 to send 10 books

so i am now out like $30.00 in credits and $10.00 in postage- or $20.00 if the box arrives back to me postage due- which would be ok as 7 of the 10 books would move right away so atleast i would be able to get the credits.....

but

as it is i am just out alot of time, $, and honestly- faith (yeah- i know she could have had a health problem, family emergency, death, blahblahblah- i honestly do not care at this point- it is now 12/3.... with no contact and none likely)

i am assuming there is nothing i can do. i am just out.....

If the box arrives back postage due, I think you would only be out $20  ($10 in postage twice), not $50?

But yeah, there isn't a whole lot you can do.

By "USPS says they were delivered", do you mean the USPS website  says the package was delivered to the other party and not returned?  Or that it was returned and has been delivered to you (except that it hasn't really)?

If the former, you can try writing a polite letter to the trader.   You can also file a "missing/stolen mail" or "mail fraud" report with the USPS postal inspectors on their website.

Molly--

Per the Help Center, since you can't PM the sender, contact the PBS team so they can look into it for you.

Cheers,

Catt

bret- you are so right about the $$$- i edited my post to reflect this

yeah- the usps track and confirm says it was delivered

but the pbs mail truck map says it is on its way back to me

i do think i will contact the post office and see why the discrepency...

i have sent many a kind note to the member- no response....

thanks kat- i think i will contact tptb

i am also considering a dc# up front before i do any more -big- box deals

i know that is not a guarantee but it is something more than nothing

i also have to say that by far i have had more positive interactions here than negative, it is just that this was not just some small negative, it was substantial (to me anyway)

oh well....

Well, USPS probably isn't going to know anything about the PBS truck's direction.

You'll probably have much better luck asking PBS about the truck.  :-)

I dont count it as being out credits, as you did not exchange credits.  Yes, you could have had your books requested individually, but they were not.  so you are actually only out the books sent and the postage to send them.  Regardless, (ir) that stinks!!!!!!

I've had two transactions go bad in the last couple of months - the other members' accounts are suspended now.  It's frustrating!  I emailed PBS and they moved both transactions to my Completed Boxes section and said that if these members return, they will be required to fulfill their box swaps before they can do anything else on PBS.  Also, about the mail truck - I think after a certain amount of time the truck goes back to you (not sure why that would be though).  Even on the books that were marked received by the other member, the truck still came back to me.  Kind of strange, in my opinion!

I think after a certain amount of time the truck goes back to you (not sure why that would be though).  To pick up another load of books of course!

That truck driver has issues. Never believe the truck, if it ever is accurate, its just plain coincidence.

I've been taken twice on a BOB & nothing what so ever was done. I even contacted the site owners more than a few times and they never answered back.

One trade I was taken out of 6 books.

The other one was 4.

The second one was for my daughter and she was really upset. She couldn't understand why the woman would take our books and not send us any. I used Paypal DC and both swaps showed the books were recieved.

This was a year ago, but still I'm disappointed about it. The woman in the trade were both mom's according to their profiles and emails we swapped. I always make a point to email the person I do a BOB with, thank them for the swap and so on. I like it being personal and friendly.

It is just sad to know that a mom could do that another mother you know? Call me old fashion I am still stunned today by the dishonesty of some people esp. when they seem like a "normal person". Know what I mean?
