(Also post over in Homeschoolers' Corner.)

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a board game I could enjoy with my five-year-old niece. She'll probably get to do a sleepover at our house for New Year's, and I thought a table-top game (board game, cards, dice, legos, etc) would be more fun than vegging out in front of the TV. I don't mind purchasing something new since my little one will grow into in a couple of years.

So, what games have you had fun sharing with a kinder-kid?

Candyland and Chutes and Ladders are old favorites with this age group as they require no reading.  Sequence for Kids is pretty cool.  At that age my boys liked Blokus, Jenga, and Battleship.  She might also like Old Maid and Memory.

Trouble, Sorry, Uno are all good bets. Those are classics that will last for several years. Enjoy!
