I like good mystery's. Especially those that feature African-American women. I liked Ms. Savoy's Heroine, the only thing that took away from this for me was how vague she described her characters. I had no idea how to look at them or imagine them. I feel that it important for readers. I liked the plotline, but the romance was tepid, and I really wasn't feeling the two characters. Maybe it's me. It still was a good read and I enjoyed the mystery storyline.
